TOGO: Government and Bboxx provide solar kits for rural areas

To speed up the process, the government recently decided to subsidise solar home kit installations in rural areas. According to Gogla, an association of manufacturers specialising in off-grid solar energy, 285,000 solar home systems were sold to households in the first six months of 2018.

The programme aims at deploying 300,000 solar home systems (SHS) in rural areas within five (5) years, starting with a pilot phase at the end 2017. CIZO is proposed as two-phased programme. CIZO Phase I with the main objective to initiate and enable the market and provide off-grid energy access to 100,000 households and CIZO II to scale-up

TOGO: EDF and BBOXX in partnership to develop solar off grid
