TOGO: Government and Bboxx provide solar kits for rural areas
To speed up the process, the government recently decided to subsidise solar home kit installations in rural areas. According to Gogla, an association of manufacturers specialising in off-grid solar energy, 285,000 solar home systems were sold to households in the first six months of 2018.

In Togo, the objective is to conquer 500,000 households by 2030. "The products now offered by BBoxx and EDF represent a reliable, affordable and CO2-free solution to contribute to the government''s program of electrification by individual off-grid solar kits," says EDF. The two companies now want to work together in other African countries.
