Locations of the 22 synoptic weather stations mapped over the four climatic zones of Ghana. Meteorological data from 22 synoptic stations in Ghana were obtained from the Ghana Meteorological Agency. These are distributed across the four climatic zones as follows: savannah (5), transition (3), forest (9) and coastal (5) ( Fig. 1 ).
