Burning scent forces shut down of electrical grid in St. Kitts
St. Kitts and Nevis (WINN): St. Kitts'' electrical grid was shut down between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10, plunging the whole island into a blackout. Energy Minister Konris Maynard said workers observed a burning scent coming from the main feeder room at the Needsmust power plant and shut the grid down to investigate.
