Introduction

In 2019 (and since 2013), 5.9% of the total energy (electric and thermal) on the island comes from solar energy. [6] This figure has not increased, despite the enormous potential of the island, due to a ceiling set by the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE), due to the volatility of this type of energy.
