What is the Guam Waterworks Authority (CCU)?
Established by law in 2002, the CCU’s purpose is to exercise powers vested in them by the laws establishing the Guam Power Authority (‘GPA’) and the Guam Waterworks Authority (‘GWA’) and serves as its board of directors. The CCU is comprised of five (5) commissioners elected at-large by the voters of Guam in a General Election.
What is GPA doing with Guam ukudu power?
In November 2019 GPA entered into a contract with Guam Ukudu Power, LLC for the construction and operation of a 198 MW Combined Cycle Combustion Turbine Power Plant. This new power plant will allow for the retirement of its oldest plant, Cabras 1&2, and address its emission compliance issues.
